Shamanism & Shamanic Counseling

Shaman is a broad term used for a healer. Wise women and men of the village were the Shamans of ancient times. Every culture since the beginning of time has had some type of healer within their culture. These are the people who knew the plants, which parts to use and knew who to prepare them to heal people. These wise ones were also called upon to know the stars, the cycles of the moon and the seasons as well. They knew the ways of their world and the land, its inhabitants had a story to tell. The plants, animals, wind, rain, rocks, soil, sun, stars and planets all played a role and were very important to there every day existence. The Shaman knew about all these things. Knowledge was passed down from elder to the young ones and passed on through the generations.

Shamanism is the study and practice of Shamanic Healing.

Shamanic Healing is an ancient form of energy healing. It is believed in many cultures that dis-ease starts at the etheric level in the energy around us called our Aura & Chakra System. Shamanic healing has been in existence for thousands of years. Indigenous peoples from all over the world have practiced this form of healing.

Since everything is energy, the Shaman is able to bring forth the energy of a plant, crystal, animal or element and put it into the persons auric field energetically. Another aspect of Shamanic Healing is that it is believed that when a person has a traumatic experience that they lose a portion of their soul, another way to put it is they loss one or more of their spirit guides. The Shamanic Healer has been trained to bring that portion of the soul back, by calling back there spirit guide. They then breath it back into the person making them more complete. These are just a couple of aspects of the Shamanic Practitioners work. Shamanic Practitioners are healers and are taught in all aspects of alternative medicine and light work.

Another aspect of the healers work is to spend time with the client and counsel them on ways that they can become more empowered in their own lives. A lot of what society suffers from as a whole is not being in touch with their souls purpose. Part of the shamanic journey (as they say) is to find ones soul purpose. There are so many people out in the world who are becoming ill because they have shut down and do not communicate with their own soul, there is a disconnect. Part of the Shamanic Practitioners job is to work with people to remind them that they have a soul purpose and if they are sick it is because there soul propose is not being fulfilled. It is like not getting enough oxygen, after a while the person will develop symptoms and become ill and will eventually die if not treated properly. The soul is as important to the body as air. The soul is what brings the light into our aura. Our aura is our soul shining. When people speak of shining there light it is the light from there soul that is shining bright.

Shamanic Counseling is the act of empowering the client to learn to listen to the soul. The techniques used are as individual as each person being counseled. Part of a session could include; a soul retrieval, meditations and shamanic journeys to find and speak to a spirit guides, energy healing such as Reiki to open balance and align the chakras and/or herbal preparations.

As a Shamanic Healer, we are taught to use our intuition and guidance to work with the client in a way that is best suited for them and in a way that they are comfortable with. There are many of us being called to do this work at this time. We are all different and have different techniques to provide for the diverse group of people that inhabit the planet right now. The calling is strong and we are ready to bring Shamanism into the next millennium. People are becoming aware that there is something missing in their life. It is their own light fading. There soul is sick and needs to be heard to be healed. Shamans are light workers, Shamans are healers, Shamans are herbalists, Shamans are mystics, Shamans are the wise ones from our past and the wise ones of our future.
